LUIMA Project, Luumäki-Imatra Railway Section Improvement

The LUIMA project involves the construction of bridges and track improvements along the Luumäki-Imatra railway section, including temporary excavations for construction work. This includes the construction of 6 new underpasses, the Mälkä canal bridge crossing the Saimaa canal, and the replacement of culvert pipes. Temporary excavations for bridge abutments utilized temporary sheet pile and steel pile wall systems, supported by various types of anchoring and compression struts. Additionally, a permanent steel pile wall was designed for the Mälkä canal bridge.
